ROUTEX is an international network alliance between Agip , Aral, BP, OMV and Statoil with over 17.500 sites in 33 countries.
The European Fuel Card of the Eni Group is Multicard, which is accepted on the ROUTEX network. For this reason, all Multicard are branded with the ROUTEX logo.
Multicard can be issued for:
- national use: only valid in Italy
- international use : valid in Italy and Europe, both at Agip service stations and in those of the other Partners in the network. All the network accepting ROUTEX cards is identified by the ROUTEX logo

ROUTEX branded Multicard allows truck and coach drivers (and also fleet customers) to buy products and services for their vehicles on the road at selected sites located on the major European roads. It can be used by the Cardholder to pay for fuel purchases and, when expressly allowed, can also be used for the purchase of lubricants, accessories and services connected to professional transport.

It can be also used for Value Added Services (VAS) including road tolls and taxes, bridges, tunnels, ferries and breakdown services. The ROUTEX brand is displayed on the Fuel Cards of the oil Companies of the network Agip, BP, OMV and Statoil) and is present in each of the 17,500+ authorised sites, distributed in 33 European countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, , Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey.

ROUTEX branded Multicard is issued with the following information:
- corporate name and location of the Customer
- the license plate of the vehicle or the registration number as indicated by the Cardholder
- expiry date
- code for the level of service to which it gives access
- I/INT validation code for the territory where it can be used (I = only for Italy, INT = for Europe)

DEFINITIONS OF POSSIBLE PURCHASES
The ROUTEX branded Multicard is provided with a service level .This code enables the card to purchase different products at service stations.

ADMINISTRATION COSTS
ROUTEX branded Multicard makes possible significant administrative and accounting savings, because the management of fuel purchases, with the fortnightly summary invoice, is much simpler.
ROUTEX Multicard enables for fuel purchases without contextual payment.
Purchases made with ROUTEX Multicard do not require any immediate cash expenditure. In fact, the total of the performed operations will be charged to the cardholder by Sofid in a special "List of Operations". Payment deadline will be 30 days after the date of the list itself.
In Italy, ROUTEX Multicard enables to "Do It Yourself" discounts.
The possibility to take advantage of these discounts for the ROUTEX Multicard cardholders is not only theoretical: more than half the stations accept the Card, perform the "Do It Yourself" discounts. It is also possible to have favourable commercial conditions.
Monitoring of Purchases Made
The invoice contains the addresses of the Points of Sale where the petrol purchases were made, the data of the cards, and, by client request, can also contain the mileage indication of the vehicles at the time of transaction.

Simplified administrative management for fuel purchases
- The operator does not have to fill invoices or fuel forms, because the client uses the fortnightly ROUTEX Multicard invoice, with all the transaction data, as proof of purchase and for accounting purposes.
- Invoicing of products and services directly to the user of the card is possible thanks to the management and agreement contracts signed by him at the time of commitment.
The accounts are substantially simplified in this way, both for the station operator and for the client, with more certainty about the accurateness of the data.

TRANSACTION SECURITY
ROUTEX branded Multicard transactions need a secret code (PIN CODE), which must be entered directly by the user at the time of the transaction.
The PIN has also the task of attributing the transaction to the Cardholder.
The level of automation of Agip network guarantees, except in extraordinary cases, electronic payment transactions, validated by a central processor.
The acceptance system which is connected in real time to the central processor, allows higher security standards for the control of the validity of the cards and their immediate cancellation in case of loss or theft.
